I love getting the opportunity to photograph families, especially military families. Being a Marine Corps wife just gives me a since of connection with military families- regardless of the branch they are in. This family is a special one! I got to do a session with little Hunter for his first birthday as well as this family session and though it was a cold afternoon, we still managed to find a little sun! I love being able to snap photos while the love from husband to wife and wife to baby and baby to dad just spirals around them! It's just magical! There were quite a few special moments during this family mini session, here are a few!

I don't know about you other mommies out there, but in our house we just LOVE playing dress up! We also are lovers of snap-tats! lol. Harper decided the other day that we were going to play "African Princess".... so I grabbed some scarves and sarongs, loaded us up with stick on jewelery and we got our play on! It was so much fun .... even if I ended up being her tiger to ride on half the time and can't get the tattoo off my forehead completely!

So I got to do something really fun and different this past weekend! I got to do a shoot for shoot with another brilliant local photographer. Mollie is one of the photos from Mollie Randall Photography and we met at the beach during sunset to take some new fun head shots of each other! Mollie is such a passionate photographer who loves what she does and strives to improve her work on a daily basis! She was great to work with and made me feel so comfortable being in front of the lens for once!

This couple was such a honor to work with. They got married one romantic, rainy afternoon on Eglin Air Force Base and I got the opportunity to be of the only witness! After doing Liz's hair and makeup and helping her get dressed I captured the moments as her and her husband Joshua said their beautiful vows in the chapel with a guest list of one :) Get this... both bride and groom are MMA fighter! (hence some of the photos at the end of the post) but despite this, were so sweet and their love was so so apparent that you could FEEL the love in the room! I actually got to sign their marriage certificate as one of their witnesses! The smallest wedding I've ever attended, but certainly one of the sweetest! Thank you Liz and Joshua for letting me be part of your big day!

One of the perks of being a photographer and a mom, is always having a subject to practice on! My baby girl is going to be 3 in just a few weeks and today was beautiful and warm so off to the beach we went! She loves loves loves the beach, so what better place to do her 3 year old session!? We grabbed some lunch, packed a bag of toys and towels and headed to Navarre Beach to spend the afternoon.... in January! Only in Florida can you have a beach day in the middle of winter lol! Harper is my world and I think she is the most beautiful girl ever (and I don't think I'm biased!)She is the perfect mixture of sweet girly-girl and dramatic diva- I think these photos captured both sides!
